![]() Though it's heavily hinted that he will, it's still significantly later than usual. Here, after 8 years into Spider-Man's career, Norman Osborn hasn't even become the Green Goblin yet. Adaptational Late Appearance: Green Goblin is one of Spidey's earliest foes, and his most personal Arch-Enemy in both the comics and other adaptations. That and he probably wouldn’t have accepted the sheer horrible lengths Norman went to to achieve the cures. He winds up forcing a lot onto Harry without his consent because he is just that desperate to keep him alive, even though Harry had already come to terms with his terminal illness and was willing to die so long as he made a difference in the world. Abusive Parents: Though by far one of the most sympathetic depictions of his character, he nonetheless falls into this trope like so many of his other iterations. He's also the father of Harry Osborn, Peter's and MJ's long-time friend. The owner of OsCorp and the disgraced mayor of New York City. (Funnily enough, most 6-drops aren't problematic because they usually have high power, but Arnim Zola and Leader are two very much notable exceptions.Voiced by: Mark Rolston (English) Other Languages Alfonso Ramirez (Latin American Spanish), Kenyū Horiuchi (Japanese), Andrey Gradov (Russian) Appearances: Hostile Takeover | Spider-Man | Spider-Man: Miles Morales | Spider-Man 2 ![]() Set Wong to 0 power, it won't hurt many On Reveal combos but makes him autoinclude in Negative decks.ĭespite my love for the mechanics, combos and visual effects of the archetype and the card, I have to say, Mister Negative is going to be a problem in the long run, because at every new card design and every nerf the developers have to do a backflip and ask: "Hold up, isn't this broken with Mister Negative?" You try nerfing Sera's power, she becomes even better in Negative. ![]() Thus, cards that are very strong but are already performing well in Negative decks become really hard to change properly. Reducing the power or increasing the mana cost of any card makes it weaker in general but stronger in Mister Negative decks. At 5 energy he would be most likely useless and giving him even less power might mean straight-up sacrificing the location he is played at. Mister Negative can be nerfed further but he is already a high-risk-high-reward card. Unlike the mana/attack/health system of many card games or the brilliant provision system in Gwent, Marvel Snap suffers from limitations when it comes to changing cards: if they want to leave the ability intact, only energy cost and power can be changed on a card. He limits design space, more specifically, nerf design space. (Insane to think that he was once 4 power.) It's safe to say, that he is an archetype-defining and thus meta-defining card, despite having been nerfed twice before open release of Marvel Snap. Mister Negative can be cheated out before turn 4 with Psylocke (doesn't happen very consistently) and he is also improved by any extra draw due to Magik or Adam Warlock for example. Building your deck around him, you can get insane stuff like Ironheart becoming 9 points for 0 energy or Iron Man being a 0/5 with his effect intact. Then you also need to draw the right cards to make this investment worthwile. Mister Negative has a huge payoff in exchange for a huge disadvantage: a 4-drop often amounts to 8-9 points (JJ, Rescue, Warpath) but he goes by -1, so you miss out on 9 or 10 points by playing him. Cost: 4 Power: -1 Ability: On Reveal: Swap the Power and Cost of all cards in your deck. ![]() His effect, so that you don't need to look it up: Yet in this post, I will discuss the main problem with the card and why he might be a problem or even become a banned card in tourrnaments later on. He was the very first Pool 3 card I opened and I reached infinite for the first time with a Negative deck. I absolutely love Mister Negative as a card.
